Kindling

What if bringing people together actually brought them together?

A uniquely human experience that sparks connection, breaks down barriers, and builds the kind of belonging that lasts.

We live in a time of extraordinary division.

Across organizations, communities, campuses, and dinner tables, people are more isolated, more polarized, and more exhausted by disconnection than ever before.

And yet, the longing to belong is universal.

The desire to be seen, heard, and part of something meaningful hasn't gone anywhere.

It's just waiting for the right conditions.

Kindling creates those conditions.

What Is Kindling?

Kindling is a bespoke, facilitated community experience designed to do what most gatherings only dream of: actually connect people.

Not as a team-building exercise.

Not as a corporate retreat checkbox.

As a genuinely human encounter that leaves every person in the room feeling more alive, more connected, and more hopeful than when they walked in.

Part play, part dialogue, part inspiration, and entirely unlike anything they've experienced before.

Joyful. Grounded. Completely unforgettable.

What Happens at a Kindling Event?

The Gathering
Participants arrive into a warm, welcoming space, music playing, something to nourish them, and a self-guided opening activity that begins the work of curiosity and connection before the event even officially begins.

The Spark
The event ignites with a play-based activity that immediately shifts the energy in the room, breaking the ice without anyone feeling like ice is being broken. Ashley then shares an inspirational address tailored specifically to this group and this particular moment.

The Flame
The heart of Kindling. Ashley guides the room through a facilitated dialogue, drawing out voices, bridging differences, and creating the conditions for real conversation to happen. Creative activities and artistic expression may be woven in, deepening the experience beyond words alone.

The Ember
Every Kindling event closes with intention. Final words from Ashley and a closing activity that seals what was created together, often including something tangible that participants carry home. What’s kindled here doesn’t end here.

Kindling is for any organization, institution, or community ready to move beyond surface-level connection to something real.

  • Universities and colleges bringing students, faculty, or staff together around shared purpose.

  • Nonprofits and community organizations navigating difference and building coalition.

  • Companies and teams ready to move from coexistence to genuine cohesion.

  • Faith communities, neighborhood groups, and civic organizations seeking common ground.

  • Schools and districts working to build belonging and bridge divides among students and staff.

Who Is Kindling For?

If the room is full but connection is missing — Kindling is for you.

Bring Kindling to Your Organization

Every Kindling event is designed from scratch around your group, your goals, and your moment. No two events are the same — because no two communities are the same.

Ashley meets with you before the event to understand what you're working with and what you're reaching for. Then she builds an experience around exactly that.

Standard events run approximately three hours. Day-long and multi-day retreats are also available.
